Safeguarding Officers
William Shrewsbury Primary School is committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of all our pupil in school. Parents should be aware that the school will take any reasonable action to ensure the safety of its pupils. In cases where the school has reason to be concerned that a child may be subject to ill treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, staff have no alternative but to follow Area Safeguarding Procedures and inform the Social Services of their concern.
We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:
-
protecting children from maltreatment;
-
preventing impairment of children's health or development;
-
ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
-
taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
